This impressive butternut squash from the Campania region (Italy) produces giant fruits and can grow up to 60 to 90 cm long.
The fruit has the recognizable bottle shape of a butternut with a greenish-gray skin and orange stripes when ripening.
The firm, dark orange flesh is sweet and muscat-like in taste, perfect for gnocchi, oven dishes or soup.
Sow under glass from mid-March or from mid-May outdoors in the garden.
Harvest during dry weather and regularly prune the growing tops for best results.
